Larger projects requiring sub-division, land development, or earth disturbance should begin by scheduling an appointment with the Zoning Officer and the Building Inspector to discuss your planned project. You'll be guided through the permit process and obtain a better understanding of what code regulations will affect your project in what manner and may discover options to speed-up the permit application, review and approval process. If you have any questions, please call the township at 610-825-3535 to schedule a pre-application meeting.
Smaller projects such as fence installation, decks/patios, and smaller interior alterations can normally receive adequate guidance over the phone. The Code Enforcement Department can be reached at 610-825-3535 extensions 2607/2608.
A building permit protects all property owners and residents by ensuring that work in the township abides by the building codes and zoning ordinance adopted by the township. It is the property owner's responsibility to obtain the required permits, although some contractors include the cost of a permit in their bill.

All registered voters are assigned to a voting district (e.g., East No. 1, Middle No. 4, etc.) depending on their place of residence. This designation may be found on your voters' registration card or check with the Montgomery County Office of Voter Services at 610-278-3280.
Colonial School district taxes are collected by Elite Revenue. Each year specific dates and times are set when the taxes will be collected at the school. Please call Elite Revenue at 484-681-9231 for further information on these dates.

Maybe, certain events, whether public or private, are subject to the Township Special Events Ordinance. A copy of the ordinance with the Special Event Permit Application is available online.

If your trash, recycling, or yard waste was not collected, please look for a "non-compliance" note on your items. If no note was left on your items, and the items were placed curbside prior to 7:00 AM the day of your scheduled pick-up, they were likely missed.
When your items are missed, please contact the trash hauler, J.P. Mascaro and Sons at 1-888-627-2276 or use their online form at https://www.jpmascaro.com/contact-us/ to inform of the oversight and leave the items at the curb for the recovery collection. Missed items are generally collected within 24-hours of notification. As always, you can contact the Township at (610) 825-3535 if the issue is not resolved.

When your trash and recyclables collection day falls on a holiday, your trash and recyclables will be collected on the Monday of that week in the affected district, and yard waste will take place on Saturdays during Holiday weeks.
