Duties
The Whitemarsh Township Authority consists of 5 residents appointed by the Board of Supervisors, serving overlapping 5 year terms. The Authority is responsible for the sanitary sewer system and powers and duties are as follows:
- Section 3-57. Township Authority
- A. Where is hereby recognized the existence of the Township Authority for the purposes permitted by general law when ordained by the Board of Supervisors
- B. Membership; terms; vacancies
- Creation, termination, powers and functions of the Township Authority shall be governed by the Municipalities Authorities Act of 1945, P.L. 382, and its amendments
- The Whitemarsh Township Authority shall consist of 5 members serving overlapping 5-year terms
- Should a vacancy occur, the Board of Supervisors shall appoint a member to fill the vacancy only for the unexpired portion of the term
- C. Powers and duties. The duties of Authority members shall be as specified under the Municipalities Authorities Act of 1945, as amended
- Chapter 95 of the Code of the township of Whitemarsh establishes certain provisions regarding sanitary sewers
