Duties
The Building Code Appeals Board (BOCA) consists of 5 residents appointed by the Board of Supervisors, serving overlapping 5 year terms. The duties of the BOCA Appeals Board are as follows:
- To hear appeals concerning a decision or interpretation made under the provisions of the Whitemarsh Township Building, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical codes.
- To determine the suitability of alternate materials and types of construction, and to interpret provisions of the Whitemarsh Township Building Codes.
- To review the Whitemarsh Township Building Codes in force; to review the present and projected policies and procedure of enforcement of such codes; and to review proposed revisions to said codes; to submit advice and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors and the township Manager in any other way concerning the enforcement, provisions and administration of the Whitemarsh Township Building Codes.
