Residents can help the environment and clear out some space at home at the same time, recycling also helps reduce the township's trash collection expenses, saving tax dollars.
All electronics, except televisions, are accepted including computers, monitors, printers, microwaves, video recorders, stereos, telephones, and DVD players. Equipment is collected during regular business hours Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm at the Township Building.

Back to TopDo not flush prescription drugs down the toilet or drain unless the label or accompanying patient informaiton specifically instructs to do so. For information on drugs that should be flushed, visit the FDA's website.
To dispose of prescription drugs not labeled to be flushed, you may be able to take advantage of a community Drug Take-Back Program for proper disposal.
If a Drug Take-Back Collection Program is not available:
Montgomery County hosts hazardous waste and electronics collections events throughout the year where residents can bring unwanted hazardous household automotive products, home maintenance, lawn and pest control products to be recycled properly.
Events that accept electronics accept all electronic equipments attached to a computer - monitors, keyboards, cables, printers, faxes, scanners, etc. TV's smaller than 27 inches are also accepted. TV's larger than 27 inches can be recycled through the manufacturer by visiting the TV manufacturer's website.

Help those in need by donating your used cell phones. Your old cell may not be of any use to you, but it can be very useful to the elderly and others. Your stored information is erased, and the phones are given to people for exclusively emergency use.
Drop your phone off at the Whitemarsh Township municipal building. A box is located in the main entrance lobby (from the rear parking lot).
Back to TopFluorescent lamps and compact fluorescent lamp light bulbs ("CFL") are included in the US EPA universal hazardous wastes.
Whitemarsh Township collects fluorescent lamps up to four-feet in length and CFL bulbs for proper disposal. Just bring the lamps and bulbs to the Township Building during normal business hours.
