2008 Residential WASTE Collection

Residential Waste is collected twice a week from occupied dwellings in Whitemarsh Township by J. P. Mascaro & Sons (Mascaro). Call the Township for the Waste Collection Schedule of your property.

For questions relating to collection procedures and/or complaints, you may call Mascaro at 1-800-432-1616 during regular business hours [Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM]. The rules for Waste Collection in Whitemarsh Township are based upon contracts between the Township and Mascaro for collection, and between the Township and the Waste System Authority of Eastern Montgomery County for disposal. To provide efficient and economical service, it is important that everyone complies with these rules. Whitemarsh Township and Mascaro each desire to provide the best possible service to the residents of Whitemarsh Township. Your cooperation and assistance in reaching this common goal will be appreciated.

Collection Time begins at 7:00 AM

It is not possible to set firm collection times for each neighborhood because of unforeseen circumstances along the route. To ensure that your trash materials will be collected, it is recommended that you place them curbside the night before, but no earlier than 7:00 PM. NO RETURN TRUCK PICK-UP TRIPS WILL BE MADE.

All residential Waste MUST BE ENCLOSED in up to six (6) bags or containers no larger than thirty (30) gallons per collection day.

NO BULK ITEMS will be collected with residential Waste collection. Items excluded in residential Waste collection include Recyclable materials, Bulk and Grass-Brush-Branch [both defined below], household hazardous waste, construction and demolition waste and unacceptable waste defined by law.

Holidays

There is NO COLLECTION on the following holidays:

When your collection day falls on a holiday, your Waste will be picked up on the next scheduled collection day in your district.

 

2008 Residential BULK Collection

Bulk is collected on-demand Thursday

Whitemarsh Township Public Works Department personnel collect Bulk from residential properties. To schedule on-demand Bulk collection call the Township at 610-825-3535 [Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM], on-demand Thursday Bulk collections must be scheduled by 4:00 PM on Tuesday.

There is no charge to residents for household Bulk collections determined to be reasonable by the Township.

Items permitted in residential Bulk collection include household furniture, household major appliances, vehicle tires and batteries. Items excluded in residential Bulk collection include Waste [defined above], Recyclable materials, Grass-Brush-Branch [defined below], household hazardous waste, construction and demolition waste and unacceptable waste defined by law. Call the Township at 610-825-3535 to verify acceptability.

 

2008 Residential GRASS-BRUSH-BRANCH Collection

Grass-Brush-Branch is collected on-demand Tuesday

Whitemarsh Township Public Works Department personnel collect Grass-Brush-Branch from residential properties. To schedule on-demand Grass-Brush-Branch collection call the Township at 610-825-3535 [Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM], on-demand Tuesday Grass-Brush-Branch collections must be scheduled by 11:00 AM on Monday.

There is no charge to residents for household Bulk collections determined to be reasonable by the Township.

Items permitted in residential Grass-Brush-Branch collection include grass clippings placed in biodegradable paper bags, brush or plants, excluding dirt, and not exceeding four (4') feet in length, tree branches under three (3") inches in diameter and not exceeding four (4') feet in length. Items excluded in residential Grass-Brush-Branch collection include Waste [defined above], Recyclable materials, Bulk [defined above], household hazardous waste, construction and demolition waste and unacceptable waste defined by law.

 

Leaves

The Township conducts a separate collection of loose and bagged leaves during the months of November and December. This waste is composted into mulch and is available for landscapers and residents for garden use. Leaf mulch and wood chip piles are located at the entrance of the Township Public Works Facility at 2015 Joshua Road.

Burning

It is unlawful to burn leaves, cuttings, grass or trash in Whitemarsh Township.
