In an effort to further enhance a positive interaction between the community and the members of the Whitemarsh Township Police Department, Chief Eileen Behr has directed the implementation of a Citizens Police Academy.
The Citizens Police Academy is a program designed to provide participants with a working knowledge of the Whitemarsh Township Police Department. The Academy consists of a series of classroom instruction and practical field exercises held one evening per week for a period of two to three hours. This course of instruction, which will be held over ten sessions, is offered to residents of Whitemarsh Township at no cost.
The Citizens Police Academy provides an in-depth view into several areas of law enforcement. It is an educational and informative program that allows citizens the opportunity to learn more about the issues that effect law enforcement in Whitemarsh Township.
The main goal of the Citizens Police Academy is to provide the residents of Whitemarsh Township with a higher level of knowledge and insight into the workings of their police department. Graduates of the Citizens Police Academy will have gained a deeper understanding of the men and women who are protecting their community.
Sessions will start at 7:00 PM and run until approximately 9:15 PM.
