Whitemarsh Township Parks & Recreation Department offers many differeent types of summer camps. We have everything from full day care to a large selection of specialty camps. Camp ages range from 3 - 14 year olds. Before and aftercare is available for all Township run 9 week camps including Cedar Grove, Miles Park and Teen Camps. 2012 Cedar Grove Camp Calendar
Summer 2012 Camp registration will begin Saturday January 7th for Whitemarsh Township residents and Wednesday January 11th for non-residents. To register, participants must fill out a registration form (pdf), and submit it to the Parks & Recreation Department with complete payment, or partial payment with a payment plan form. Most specialty camps are available for online program registration. All Township 9 week camps MUST be registered in person or over the phone. NO internet registration is available for these 9 week camps.

Back to TopAll Township staff at the 9-week camps are fully certified in C.P.R. & A.E.D. for adults & children and C.P.R. for infants. Each member of the staff is also fully certified in First Aid. All staff go through criminal background checks as well as child abuse clearance checks. Those over the age of 18 must also go through an F.B.I. background check. The Township holds orientations and training sessions to ensure that only the most qualified and dedicated staff are running the camps.
Back to TopWhitemarsh Township Parks & Recreation offers many different types of specialty camps - there is something for every child. Specialty Camps are run by non-Township, contracted companies and/or individuals. These camps run in conjunction with the programs by the Whitemarsh Township Parks & Recreation Department. Specialty Camps are typically half day or less. Some Specialty Camps participate in the camp hopper program for families that need full day care, but would still like to participate in the Specialty Camps. There is no before and after care offered for Specialty Camps. Please check back for a list of additional specialty camps for Summer 2012 as we add new camps as they become available.

Whitemarsh Township Parks & Recreation Department offers three full day camps that are 9 weeks long. These camps are for ages 3-15, and are run and staffed by the Parks & Recreation Department. These three camps all offer before and after care (Gecko Club).
Back to TopCedar Grove Camp
Cedar Grove Camp takes place Cedar Grove Park, located at Cedar Grove Road and Wells Street in Conshohocken. This camp is for ages 3-6 and meets Monday through Friday. Cedar Grove Camp offers a full day option from 9:00 A.M. through 4:00 P.M. and a half day option from 9:00 A.M. through 12:00 P.M. Both A.M. only and full day campers will go on a weekly trip. Campers will participate in arts & crafts, sports, freeplay and structured games. Before and after care is available for this camp. The ratio of staff to campers is approximatley 1:5. This program is NOT available for online registration.
There is a madatory parent meeting for participants of this camp on June 7th at 7:00 P.M. at the Cedar Grove Barn.

Miles Park Camp
Miles Park Camp takes place at Miles Park, located at Germantown Pike & Joshua Road in Lafayette Hill. This camp is for ages 6-11 and meets Monday through Friday. This camp runs from 9:00 A.M. through 4:00 P.M. Before & after care is available for this camp. Campers will have many choices of activities throughout the day. Campers are never forced into an activity but rather given choices throughout the day, so there is something for every child. Miles Park Camp participates in many different types of Special Events and activities throughout the summer. Campers will go swimming every Tuesday & Thursday afternoon at the Plymouth Whitemarsh High School pool where they are supervised by two lifeguards at all times in addition to their counselors who will be in the water with them.
Lunch plans are also available for this camp from the Concession Stand at an additional cost.
This program is NOT available for online registration.
There is a mandatory parent meeting for participants of this camp on June 9th at 7 P.M. at the Parks & Recreation Building.

Teen Extreme Camp
Teen Extreme Camp runs out of Miles Park as well as the Parks & Recreation Building located at Germantown Pike & Joshua Road in Lafayette Hill. This camp is for ages 12-15 year olds. Teen Camp meets Monday through Friday. Campers participate in many different events at camp such as Messy Day, Rubber Duck Regada and Scavenger Hunts within the park. Teen Camp goes swimming every Monday afternoon at the Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Pool. Campers also go on a trip every Tuesday and Thursday. All trips are included within the cost of the camp. Before and after care is available for this camp. Lunch plans are also available for this camp from the Concession Stand at an additional Cost. This program is NOT available for online registration. Gecko Club is the Before and After Care Program that is offered for the participants of the Cedar Grove Camp, Miles Park Camp and Teen Extreme Camp.

The camp hopper program enables you to particpate in our specialty camps and still receive full day care. You pay full price for your specialty camp and then receive a discounted rate on either Cedar Grove Camp, Miles Park Camp or Teen Extreme Camp. We transport your child from camp to camp, so there is nothing you have to worry about. We only transport within a park, so your Specialty camp needs to run out of the same park as your full day camp. Once you sign up for the camp hopper you may then utilize the gecko club, our before & aftercare program. A list of all of the participating specialty camps are listed below.

Whitemarsh Township reserves the right to cancel any camp due to insufficient enrollment. In the event that the Department cancels a camp, a full refund will be given in the form of check or credit card used for payment. Refunds take at least two to three weeks to process. We DO NOT issue cash refunds.
One Month Prior: Refunds must be requested one month prior to camp start date to receive a full refund or credit to be used within one year of issuance.
Within One Month: Within one month of camp start date, participant will receive a 50% refund or credit.
Within Two Weeks: Within two weeks of a camp start date, no refunds will be issued.
There is a $5.00 processing fee on ALL refunds.
Register early and save. All of our 9 week camps are currently in our discount period. This includes Cedar Grove, Miles Park or Teen Extreme Camps. Prices will return to their normal rate as of March 31, 2012.
Participants interested in utilizing a Payment Plan should fill our the payment plan form. In order to expedite the processing time, please have the form completely filled out.
The Payment Plan is a direct debit system. Registrants may choose to set this up by using a Credit or Debit Card.
