First responders to emergency calls are crucial in any town. In addition to the Whitemarsh Township Police, there are three fire companies and one EMS squad, comprising both paid and volunteer personel expertly trained to provide life-saving help where and when needed.
An alert for Emergency Management Coordinators to identify individuals who would be unable to evacuate in a disaster situation is available to residents. This is a coorperative effort between Bucks, Chester, and Montgomery Counties.
ReadyNotifyPA is a way for residents to receive alerts for local, regional and national emergencies through mobile devices (cell phone, pagers, or email). The alerts are free but individual wireless providers may charge messaging fees.
The Office of Emergency Management plans and coordinates resources within the Township in the event of an emergency. Business owners are encouraged to complete and submit the registry form (linked above) to the Emergency Services Management Administrator to obtain vital information during an emergency.
A flood starts with a single drop of water-but it doesn’t stop there. All it takes is one persistent thunderstorm and suddenly, water is rushing under your door. Without flood insurance you would have to pay for ruined walls, furniture, floors, rugs, baseboards, electronics and more. Buying affordable flood insurance lessens your financial burden, and makes it faster and easier to repair the damage and make your house a home again.
More than 80 insurance companies offer preferred risk flood insurance from the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and whichever company you use, it’s sold at the same low price, as shown in the chart below provided by FEMA NFIP. For more information, visit, www.floodsmart.gov or call 1-800-427-2419.
