PRESENTATION OF INCONVENIENT SEQUEL
Whitemarsh Township Environmental Advisory Board, MONTCO Ready for 100 and William Jeanne’s Memorial Library are co-sponsoring a showing of the film Inconvenient Sequel on Sunday, October 21st at 2 PM in the library Community Room. SPOTTED LANTERNFLY CANVASSING

HOLIDAY TRASH & RECYCLING COLLECTION SCHEDULE


There is no collection on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Fourth of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
When your trash and recyclables collection day falls on a holiday, your trash and recyclables will be collected on the Wednesday of that week in the affected district, and yard waste moved to Saturday for everyone. If you are unsure of your property's collection day), check the Township Trash Collection District Map (PDF).

ROAD CLOSURES & PROJECTS

Whitemarsh Township's 2018 Road Paving Program:


  • The Township's 2018 Road Paving Program will begin on October 1st and last approximately two weeks. For additional information on the paving program, as well as a complete list of affected roads, visit: http://www.whitemarshtwp.org/266/Roads-Projects
  • Lafayette Avenue: Road paving will take place on Lafayette Avenue in Whitemarsh Township between the hours of 7PM and 5AM on Tuesday, October 16th, Wednesday, October 17th and Thursday, October 18th weather permitting. Please follow the detour during this time.

Intersection Improvements:


  • Senton/Flourtown/Cricket: Whitemarsh Township’s contractor JD Morrissey will be starting the construction of intersection improvements on Friday, October 5th. These improvements include the widening of the intersection to provide for designated left hand turn lanes in both directions of Stenton Avenue and a designed right hand turn lane on Flourtown Road. They will also be installing stormwater improvements along Stenton Avenue. The work will occur during the hours of 7AM and 3PM weekdays. Please stay alert for road closures or detours during the approximate 6 months of construction.

Montgomery County Road and Bridges has announced the following road closure updates:


  • Butler Pike: Montgomery County Roads and Bridges, advised Butler Pike will be closed between Germantown & Flourtown, immediately, and for the unforeseen future due to structural road issues at the railroad bridge.  The County is working on a detour plan to be approved by PENNDOT.  We will post additional information once it is provided by Montgomery County  https://www.montcopa.org/377/Roads-Bridges.

PECO has announced the following road closure updates:

  • Hillside Road: the section between Marianne Road to the Cul-de-sac will have construction beginning July 23rd. The project is expected to last through October 12th. Please stay alert for any potential road closures or detours.
  • Center Avenue Area: Electrical box replacement project is expected to start at the beginning of October 2018 and will last until November 22nd. Please stay alert for any potential road closures or detours.

PennDOT has announced the following closure updates: 


  • Pennsylvania Avenue: Single lane closures are scheduled on Pennsylvania Avenue between Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) and Bethlehem Pike in Upper Dublin and Whitemarsh townships, Montgomery County, on Monday, October 8, through Friday, October 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for traffic signal installations.

  • PENNDOT – Lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled next Monday, October 22nd from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Joshua Road between Militia Hill Road and the Pennsylvania Turnpike overpass in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County for tree trimming and brushing operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Aqua Pennsylvania, Inc. has announced a water main replacement on the following streets in Conshohocken and Whitemarsh:


  • Hallowell Street between E. 13th Avenue and E. 12th Avenue
  • E. 12th Avenue between Hallowell Street and Righter Street
  • Jones Street between E. 12th Avenue and E. 13th Avenue
  • E. 13th Avenue between Jones Street and Pine Street
The project is scheduled to begin the week of October 1, 2018 with completion expected in December 2018. Construction will take place week days between 7AM and 3PM. Any questions please contact Aqua at 215-659-2505 ext. 56005. 

Aqua Pennsylvania, Inc, has announced the follow road closures:


  • Hector Street: weekdays between North Lane and Cedar Grove Road in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County, beginning Monday, October 29, for water main installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. Weather permitting, the closure will be in place weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM through the end of March.

Intersection Improvement Project Closures:


  • On or about October 22, 2018 Stenton Avenue will be closed between West Mill Road and Flourtown Road to allow Stage One construction activities for the Stenton Avenue, Flourtown Road and Cricket Road intersection improvement project. This closure will be in place for approximately 8 weeks (weather permitting). After the installation of the storm sewer on West Valley Green Road, local traffic will be allowed to travel along Stenton Avenue to West Valley Green Road (maybe a week). Traffic from West Mill Road will be detoured along Stenton Avenue to Northwestern Avenue, Germantown Pike, Joshua Road and Flourtown Road back onto Stenton Avenue. Traffic traveling down to the closure at Stenton Avenue will be detoured onto Flourtown Road, Joshua Road, Germantown Pike, Northwestern Avenue and back onto Stenton Avenue. Traffic on Joshua Road coming from the East will be warned of the Stenton Avenue closure and should follow the posted detour instead of driving down Stenton Avenue.
